The Best Outfits to Get You Through Winter

I have grown up in Western New York my whole life so I understand how frigid it gets during the winter.

Sometimes it’s so cold that you have to wear multiple layers, but I know that can sometimes be so uncomfortable.

One of my biggest pet peeves is when you bundle up to stay warm outside, only to start sweating as soon as you step indoors.

My goal today is to make some outfits look cute, keep you warm and won’t cause you to overheat.

My number one tip is to invest in a good jacket.

A high-quality jacket that keeps you warm regardless of what you’re wearing is essential for surviving cold winters.

Personally, my favorite warm winter jackets are the North Face Puffers. Any style will work perfectly–it’s just all personal preference.

I have the The North Face Gotham Hooded Down Jacket With Faux Fur Hood In Black, but unfortunately I think it has been discontinued or it is just extremely hard to get.

I love North Face coats mainly because they have fleece-lined pockets, which act almost like insulated gloves to keep your hands warm.

The jackets are also thick enough to keep you warm but thin enough to not cause you to overheat.

I particularly like the cropped length—it rests right on my hips, which is exactly what I want.

The North Face also has long parka jackets if that is what you’re interested in. I appreciate how they have a variety of jackets for everyone at all lengths and styles.

My only issue with The North Face jackets is that they are very expensive. However, I genuinely think they are worth it and can’t see myself buying any other brand to keep me warm.

Next, a good-quality vest is perfect for layering outfits.

You’ll never guess where I’m gonna say my favorite one is from…. The North Face!

For Christmas last year, I unwrapped The North Face Hydrenalite™ Down A-Line Womens Puffer Vest, and I instantly fell in love with it.

It’s the perfect length, resting right above the hip, and it’s thin yet warm.

This vest also has the fleece pockets just like the jacket.

It is a bit on the pricey side being $150, but I think it is totally worth every penny.

If you do not want to spend that much (which I totally understand) Amazon has some great dupes!

During the winter months, I think it is essential to dress by the “3 C’s”: comfortable, cozy and cute.

One of my favorite and go-to outfits are leggings, a hoodie, and UGG Classic minis. This outfit is so simple and basic yet cute and comfortable.

Aerie has the best leggings because they have a large variety of colors, sizes and styles. You can also find coupons online and they have in-store sales as well.

Another great outfit idea is matching sets. Going to class in a matching sweat set makes you feel so put-together and comfortable.

Some of my favorite places to get a matching outfit is White Fox Boutique, Hollister, Comfrt, Abercrombie & Fitch and Amazon.

White Fox sweat sets are probably the most popular out of all of them and I can see why–they are basic but not plain. The sweat sets have a White Fox logo and the outfit line they are from.

White Fox hoodies and sweatpants also come in a wide range of colors, from basic colors like black or white to fun shades like pink or yellow.

White Fox is my favorite place to buy sweat sets because they are so thick and warm. I could wear these in under 30 degree weather with just a vest and be comfortable.

They are most definitely high quality and are worth the price.

While the quality is excellent, the price can be a downside. A hoodie alone is $60, and sweatpants are $50.

If you are interested in buying a White Fox set be cautious about the sizing. Their sweatshirt sizes are listed as, XXS/XS, XS/S, S/M, M/L, L/XL.

I suggest sticking with your usual size since they’re already oversized. For example, if you normally wear a medium, go for a S/M—it should fit perfectly.

Paying $110 for a sweat set is sometimes out of reach especially for college students.

This is why I love Amazon. You can get an entire set for $30-$40.

When shopping on Amazon definitely look at reviews since some manufacturers use cheap material to make the prices lower.

Hollister is a great middle-ground option because they are not very expensive but still offer amazing quality.

A hoodie is around $40 and sweatpants are $50. While this might seem a bit pricey, Hollister frequently has sales and offers coupons.

I absolutely love their sweat sets because they are incredibly soft—it feels like wrapping yourself in a warm blanket.
