Hello everyone! My name is Hailey Garrison. I am 21 years old and I am a senior at SUNY Fredonia.
I would say I am very passionate about school and have always tried my best to get amazing grades.
I am also a college cheerleader and have been cheerleading since my freshman year of high school (2018).
I wanted to create this website to help women between the ages of 16-24 navigate college.
This website will be not only related to the education side of college but also the lifestyle/beauty side.
Some possible educational posts will be how to create the perfect schedule, how to be successful in your classes, which major is right for you? What to keep in your college bag, etc.
More lifestyle content will include the best outfits to get you through winter, living on campus, the good, the bad and the ugly, hairstyles to switch it up, etc.
Obviously, whichever side does better, I will post more of that kind of content. It is all up to the readers and engagement levels.
How will I stand out from other content creaters? I want to be very personable with my content including using my own pictures.
I also do not want to seem like a cookie cutter kind of person, because I am far from that.
Basically I’m saying, I do not have a perfect life and I do not want my audience to think I do.
Even though it may be educational in some aspects I want to show my fun personality and have my posts seem like I am directly talking to the reader.
I want all of my posts to sound like your friend just sent a very long text and you decide to read all of it in one sitting.
Depending on what my audience likes, I can curate my content directly to what is most interesting to them.
For example, my audience really is interested in reading about a day in the life of a college student, I will then post more content like this, adding in different variations.
Let me start off with some qualifications for this role as “big sister”.
I am currently a senior in college so I have seen and heard everything. And when I say EVERYTHING I mean it.
I am constantly on TikTok. No seriously, it’s a problem my screen time is at least 24 hours a week just on TikTok alone.
Once again, I am 21 years old, so I have been through all of the stages of college life.
With that being said, I hope that I can help anyone and everyone be successful and enjoy their 4 years in college.
I was also looking into doing budget friendly content such as how to get the most bang for your buck in college, tips to save on books, etc.
Being in college you are most likely going to be broke, since you’re either paying school in full, or taking out loans.
Unfortunately, paying just for school does not cover everything. Books, test supplies, stationary all cost money and it can add up quickly.
You’re also gonna want to have extra spending money for spring break, going out, food, etc.
If you are interested in sports in college, I can always write about that as well since I am an NCAA college cheerleader.
When I was younger I was always into the more girly sports. Some of these were dance (7 years), gymnastics (3 years), and soccer. But I was horrible at soccer so that doesn’t count.
When I finally got to high school, I decided to try out for the cheerleading team since my school did not have a dance or gymnastics team.
I knew absolutely nothing about cheerleading but I made the team.
After many, many, years of participating in this sport, I believe I am an expert.
Not only have I learned so much about cheerleading, but I have also learned life lessons associated with cheerleading such as time management, leadership, and communication skills.
Now let’s get to the educational aspect of college.
All of my life I have been very school oriented and have always strived for academic validation.
I have received many awards throughout my lifetime and have continued in college.
I have been on the dean’s list every semester that I have been at SUNY Fredonia. One of my biggest accomplishments is that I earned a 4.0 GPA while taking 18 credits my Fall 2024 semester.
Other than that, my GPA has never gone below a 3.6, so if study tips are what you need, I am your girl.
In all, I just want to be seen as someone who you can look up to and ask for help whenever it is needed.
I want my website to be a guide to helping women get through the highs and lows of all things college life.
